Maseno University admitted the first students to its Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Degree in 2010. Three years later, in April 2013, the Department of Psychology was established. The Department has since grown. In addition to the single bachelor’s degree programme it has taught since its inception, today the department also offers postgraduate (a master’s and a PhD) programmes in counselling psychology. This Department offers these programmes at both the main campus in Maseno and at the Kisumu city campus.

The Department of Psychology offers face to face learning opportunities and experiences through which undergraduate and postgraduate students develop an understanding of the perspectives, content, methodology and technology of the science of human behaviour and mental processes.
