DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN MUSIC

It is designed to equip students with training in research skills and critical thinking in music studies in line with vision 2030.  Coursework is a foundation upon which students can specialize. The Ph.D. Composition specialization aims at advancing students’ compositional skills by employing a wide range of technical procedures relevant to contemporary composition.  The Ph.D. Performance specialization inculcates performance skills and etiquette in students from diverse musical cultures informed by an understanding of style, genre, context, and interpretation relevant to their specialized repertoire.
