Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology

The programme aims at preparing counsellors capable of guaranteeing individual, institutional and national wellness; to meet the increasing demand in the labour market for counsellors with relevant knowledge and skills; and to equip learners with relevant competences for responding to emerging psychosocial needs.

 

 

Admission Requirements

Applicants eligible for admission into the program must:

Satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission to the University and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

 

Duration of the Programme

The course runs for two (2) academic years

Research and thesis writing are at the core of his programme. The course will be delivered via lectures and tutorials, seminar presentations, research/thesis supervision, and practical modes of delivery shall be applied. 

Students also take personal therapy sessions and industrial attachment of a minimum of 300 hours.
 

Programme Structure

The programme shall normally consist of course work, research, and thesis writing.
