Bachelor of Arts Language and Communication with IT

The philosophy of this programme is enshrined in the Department of Linguistics mission which strives to develop academic excellence in language and linguistics and train learners who can effectively to intellectual, academic and social developments both in the University, and Globally on matters on language and linguistics, with communication being one of the core functions of any human communicative system. This is consistent with social pillar in the Vision 2030 policy document, where quality education in academic institutions constitutes a pillar of development especially in the generation of qualified and skilled personnel to serve various sectors in the country where services of language and communication experts are essential. The Bachelor of Arts (Language and Communication) programme exposes students to theoretical thinking in both Linguistics and Communication. Trained Graduates of this programmme can exercise their skills in the fields of academic, Non Government Institutions and even in International Organisations.

Program Requirement
Admission Requirements
Applicants must satisfy: 

(i)  The minimum entry requirements for admission to the University. 

(ii) The entry requirements for admission to the School of Arts and Social Sciences.

 (iii) A candidate must have obtained a grade C+ and above in English at KCSE level, or 

(iv) A credit and above at equivalent examination

  1. Duration of the ProgrammeThe duration of the program shall normally be four (4) academic years. Teaching methods in all units shall include lectures, seminars, tutorials, and discussions
